Zundert Mystery Fox - good things come to those who make it to the end of the dahlia alphabet. This is one of my 'deserted island' dahlias... ZMF is an absolute workhorse of a dahlia - a prolific and gorgeous bloomer on the early to mid side of the blooming season. This dahlia makes for an excellent cut flower. The occasional bright green center is delightful against that punchy coral.
ZMF has a wider range in tone than the true scarlet Tempest and will range between bronzey orange-reds to coral-reds. In intense summer heat, the more mature blooms will begin to fade to a dustier hue at the outside of the bloom, so we cut often to keep armloads popping up in that rich color.
